So much has changed, and yet so much remains the same with the reopening of Walt Disney World; among those changes is the way you can interact with characters. Penelope’s favorite activity in Disney, was talking to all her princess and furry friends, with social distancing guidelines this is something that is no longer available, but what we got instead on our first visit back to Disney was just as magical.

You could be strolling Main St, and suddenly the music starts playing, and you look up to see some of your favorite characters waving down at you from the train station, almost as if they were just like you playing in the parks.

Our first run-in with characters happened right on Main St as we were entering the park! We look up and there they were saying welcome back to all of us, everyone staggered beneath them with a cast member there to ensure social distancing is enforced as we watched the characters greet us on our way in. It was such a sweet and unexpected surprise, it adds so much magic to your day, little did we know this was going to happen throughout the day, never planned, they just pop up at the train station or they marched down Main St., never announced so you never knew which friends you would find. We are some of the biggest parade fans, but we completely forgot there was no parade, the random character cavalcades were just so magical, you never felt there was something missing
As we made our way back to the front of the castle from Tomorrowland, we noticed the music began to play. I just remember Penelope yelling through her little mask “Look mommy” as I looked I saw the princess cavalcade heading our way, here are some of the magical friends we saw, full disclosure Ariel has legs now!
That feeling of not knowing who you will see when the music starts playing, I think, is the most exciting. Though parades at Disney are lovely and so magical, this new way to see your favorite characters will knock your socks off; you never know what’s coming and what is more magical than that? The characters are everywhere, and where you least expect them, I’ll leave some surprises for you when you get to visit and experience the new way of doing Disney parks.

The best part is not having to plan, you are going about your day enjoying the attractions, and magic just springs out of nowhere to delight everyone around, because it happens throughout the day multiple times you won’t miss any of your favorites! I hope you enjoy some of the photos I captured of our sweet friends! Check out our Instagram, where I will be sharing more familiar faces!
Until next time, have a magical day pals!
