Disney’s Festival of Fantasy parade is the best Disney Day time parade ever.
Hear us out …. key word Day time .
Paint the night over in Disneyland shall reign until the end of time as #1 but since it is at night it’s in it’s own category.
Now that we have ranked them lets indulge, a couple days ago Joss & Penelope took of to magic kingdom to catch the Parade. Enjoying our 19 day streak of rain here in Florida, random Disney trips can turn into a soaking disaster but it makes for amazing parade weather because the sun isn’t beating down on you as you whimsically sing out loud and dance to the parade. Though we fell victims to the raging rain that can plummet into Florida, that was well after the parade concluded so we truly enjoyed the day up to the point where we were completely drenched.
We reside about a twenty minute drive from Magic kingdom, we decided to leave around 1 pm because you have to give yourself time for parking and the ocasional monorail “holding for further traffic clearance” we were looking for a quick parade viewing trip.
Once we cleared the entrance we have three go to spots for the parade, number 1 is train station up the stairs if you are looking at the castle, once up there you want to go to your right hand side. Now they usually block off the center for VIP guest but no worries the place you want is that little corner where the block off starts, there you find a little shade and a nice breeze so this is our go to spot for a hot sunny day in Magic Kingdom. Here’s a highlight of where is it located on the map!

Here you will find the parade floats passing by and you are face to face with some our magical friends because of that upper level. Let’s face it no matter how old you are getting a wave from them is the ultimate goal! So that spot is really fun for all these reasons. Check out the view below including our whimsical friends!

Parade Spot number two, walking into Magic Kingdom once you’ve passed under the railroad tracks and see Main Street you want to look at the flagpole, you want to be right behind it. By that we mean you want to be standing in the center where you see the flag pole in front of you so right underneath spot number one. Here’s the highlight of the location on the map!

This spot is for those days where the heat is trying to convince you to call it quits. Once the parade comes by the shade takes over from the second floor giving you a perfect place to be covered from the beaming sun but able to enjoy the parade in all its glory! And the view is great check it out below, these shots are from that very spot 📸 If Character interactions are your thing this is a good place to go! Look at all our friends that stopped by & waved hello 👋

Last but not least and also the winner for this spontaneous parade viewing trip, you want to move all the way down Main Street for this one. When you reach the end of Main Street you come to the round about in front of you is Cinderella’s castle you want to take a right where the road breaks. The spot you want is on the edge of the sidewalk with the water fountain behind you you wanna move a bit in and not be by the corner of the street here we highlight the location!

We rank this number three simply because you are more vulnerable to the unpredictable Florida climate but your backdrop of the castle is pretty awesome. This is our go to spot when we plan on playing in the park afterwards because it’s easy to break in whichever direction once the parade ends because the masses tend to follow the parade out. So if your planning to head out after the parade we strongly recommend spots 1 or 2 since you’ll be right there by the exit. But otherwise here you find yourself with a gorgeous back drop , decent crowd & this awesome view..

The parade was captured from Penelope’s point of view here , another great spot for character interaction as you can see below .

So whenever we are planing on viewing the parade you can catch us at one of these three spots awaiting our friends so we can say hi to each and every one of them!
If you chose spot #1 we say at the latest head there around 2:30 it’s usually the last place to fill up
For spot #2 you want to be there at 2:00 it is the first place to go because everyone is looking for the shade.
& for spot #3 we recommend 2:15, it being near an area that has a lot of space for viewing gives you a little breathing room with time but if you want to be right up front to be able to interact with characters make sure you claim your spot early!
The only thing left to do is wait for the trumpets & that’ll mean the parades around the corner!
We hope this helps when it comes to planning your parade viewing spot! Let us know if you have any questions! Or if you have your own hidden gems for viewing the parade!
We’d love to hear from you ♥️
As always ,
Have a magical Day !
